<span style=”-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);”>Hi all, just wanted to share this. Back now from Alaska 4 month trip so plan join in more.
I FINALLY got to meet Mandy in person at the Folkcraft class this past weekend 😄 And Jon and Amber 👍🏻👍🏻</span>the class was a lot of fun even though I was FAR below the abilities of the rest of the class. there were 17 people for the class, mostly from around Woodburn, but also from Michigan ,Tennessee, Ohio, and of course me from Iowa. One had only played for 3 months > hoping she joins Banjolemonade.
I can see how getting together weekly to jam, with Richard Ash leading (helping, teaching) could really help a player. I was having a huge problem getting my bass dulcimer middle string in tune with my Snark. When asked, he generously tuned it and then explained why it might be happening. And suggested using my thumb instead of a pick when tuning my bass.
Mandy did a great lesson on playing the Blues. And she played for us at the end. If you have a chance, join a class with her!!!!
Richard Ash gave a tour of the shop > takes a lot to build a dulcimer! OH, all the wood types was like a visual banquet to me. And no, Jason, I did not get another one.

Glad you enjoyed it!
How’d you know I’d ask? 😇
I’ll echo you Jane, we all know Mandy’s the best online teacher, but she’s even better in person, so if anyone gets a chance sign up and go learn from her in person.

Oh it was so nice meeting you Jane!! Playing with others is always great and you learn so much. I didn’t know half of the songs they played but was following along playing chords. A dulcimer “club” is a specific thing and something I don’t have any experience with. I imagine from club to club things are a lot different as well. So neat!!
