Here’s a fiddle tune that is played a lot in jams. I’m presenting it to you in both its original key, and a common jam key. So grab your instrument and jam along. Use these videos to practice your backing. 85-90% of your playing (if with other instruments) will just be back up, so work with it.
I’ll include chord charts for both keys also. First in the key of G. – Banjo (open use the chord chart), Mando (use chord chart), Dulcimer DAD (capo 3, use D chord chart from D section).
CHORD CHART –
Here’s it at 60bpm
Here is a faster play through in G using a dulcimer this time. Tuned DAD, capo 3 to be in G. Using any instrument play the G chord chart. Using a dulcimer with a capo – use the D chart.
Now let’s play it in D.
Chord chart –
Below I’m playing it on a dulcimer in the key of D. I’m using a dulcimer tuned DAA here. On ANY instrument just use the above D chord chart to play along. OR use a capo to go from G to D and use the G chart.
First is a slow medium tempo –
Next a fast tempo.
