Psalms 150:4
“Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.”
Welcome to my Music Ministry page! In teaching multiple instruments to people and talking on my Youtube channel, I’ve been able to have a small platform to create a music ministry. I’ll play and teach hymns, have a message at the end of every video, promote Jesus through my apparel and even have porch talks where I talk about the gospel, do Bible readings, and more. This platform has enabled me to make a difference in people’s lives through Jesus Christ!! I do love to teach but more than that I love spreading the Good News of the Gospel with others. So if you are interested in supporting the ministry, you are welcome to do so (but never required or even asked to do so from me). Only do so if you feel called to do so. First you’ll see a great article I wrote on how I use music to witness to people. Feel free to download it and share it far and wide. Next just a small sampling of the many videos I’ve done including hymns, and Bible talks with verses in them. **Free hymn book download for clawhammer banjo, as well as some FREE hymn tabs on other instruments below that for you.

I’ll Fly Away Dulcimer
This month’s Music Ministry lesson. On my homemade box dulcimer. Free for everyone.
LYRICS:
Some glad morning when this life is o’er,
I’ll fly away;
To a home on God’s celestial shore,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away).
Chorus
I’ll fly away, Oh Glory
I’ll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away).
When the shadows of this life have gone,
I’ll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away)
Chorus
Just a few more weary days and then,
I’ll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away)
Chorus
What Child Is This / Dulcimer
Rock Of Ages - Mandolin
Farther Along Clawhammer
Here is my next Music Ministry lesson for clawhammer banjo. The hymn is Farther Along. What a beautiful song. You’ll find tabs, the TEF file, and the lyrics here for you. Please share this far and wide to anyone who plays banjo! Please also honor my request and don’t remove my name, website, or try to profit in any way off this. God Bless you brothers and sisters!
To use the TEF FILE you’ll need to download the FREE viewer called TABLEDIT. Click HERE to download on any device. This program is GREAT fun and a wonderful practice tool. I offer this to members who are at my yearly level. It allows you to see and hear the tab playthrough with a metronome as well that you can speed up, slow down, turn the banjo on or off so you just hear the metronome. Really nice practice help.
- Tempted and tried, we’re oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long;
While there are others living about us,
Never molested, though in the wrong.- Refrain:
Farther along we’ll know more about it,
Farther along we’ll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We’ll understand it all by and by.
- Refrain:
- Sometimes I wonder why I must suffer,
Go in the rain, the cold, and the snow,
When there are many living in comfort,
Giving no heed to all I can do. - Tempted and tried, how often we question
Why we must suffer year after year,
Being accused by those of our loved ones,
E’en though we’ve walked in God’s holy fear. - Often when death has taken our loved ones,
Leaving our home so lone and so drear,
Then do we wonder why others prosper,
Living so wicked year after year. - “Faithful till death,” saith our loving Master;
Short is our time to labor and wait;
Then will our toiling seem to be nothing,
When we shall pass the heavenly gate. - Soon we will see our dear, loving Savior,
Hear the last trumpet sound through the sky;
Then we will meet those gone on before us,
Then we shall know and understand why.

Amazing Grace -Mandolin
Here’s a super fun strum lesson on mandolin (with singing) for Amazing Grace in the Key of D. At the end I tell you about the chords in the key of G as well.
This song is commonly played in these 2 keys. I chose D because it’s easier for me to sing in D. So the chords are D, G, and A and they POP UP as needed on screen. I also show you an EASY STRUM PATTERN for 3/4 time songs.
Here are the lyrics below for your if you’d like to sing with it. We are just using an easy A chord in place of the A7.
Below the lyrics, I’ve linked the lesson on the melody notes for you also. Get this strumming down nicely, then move on to that lesson.
What A Friend - Mandolin
Tabs on screen for you! Slow play through 2 times.
