Listen to good preachers! Get in the word and get the word in you. If you do this you won’t be able to help it and the word will bubble up out of you.
“This book will will keep you from sin, or SIN will keep you from this book!” – Dwight Moody
“Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God … What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be.” – John Adams, 2nd President, Signer of the Declaration of Independence.
I’ve been to Washington D.C. twice in my life. Anyone who says this country wasn’t built on Christianity is deceiving you. All the monuments, the capital, and more are completely SOAKED in scripture. It’s beautiful, seeing all the marble monuments with beautiful scriptures everywhere. Our forefathers were absolutely Christians and they hoped and prayed for our continued faith in God. Our entire legal system was built with it’s foundation in the Bible. It’s so fun to read how closely our justice system foundations align with Biblical principals.
“Grow in the root of all grace, which is faith. Believe God’s promises more firmly than ever. Allow your faith to increase in its fullness, firmness, and simplicity.” – Charles Spurgeon
For my women –
“Don’t be content with the Christian desk calendar approach to Christianity. Don’t be satisfied with a daily practical saying or some three-step process for being a good wife or a better friend. God has both called you and equipped you to know him. We have no excuse to remain ignorant of his character. Seek God’s face. Understand his character. Pursue knowledge of him, for apart from the “fear of the Lord” and “the knowledge of the Holy One” (Proverbs 9:10) we have no hope for being a wise mother, sister, wife, or friend.” ― Wendy Horger Alsup
